Each of our trainers brings an essential talent to the table, and each has a passion for helping horses & riders reveal their very best selves.
Sarah Meier
Owner & Head Trainer
An active competitor herself, Sarah brings along our young equine talent, refines our going talent, and develops more advanced skills in our riders. She has decades of experience in the sport & has been graduating horses & riders from Punchestown Stables since 2002. She shows through the Grand Prix classes & generally has 1-3 promising sport prospects coming along. Also a dedicated student, she lessons with the wealth of talent that comes through Lexington & works regularly with Aaron Vale in Ocala. She can be seen giving tips to our pony kids on her way to the Junior Jumper ring, or working one-on-one with a ship-in amateur at home. Nearly all Punchestown riders get a chance to work with Sarah as they develop their intermediate skill set, which eases their transition into our advanced programs.
Alexandria Nelson
Assistant Trainer
Alex has been an integral piece of Team Punchestown since 2011. As our Lesson Program Coordinator, she manages a vibrant group of up & coming riders finding their way into the sport. She is a patient & enthusiastic coach for our riders, a meticulous manager for our horses, and a tireless multitasker for all things Punchestown. She teaches most of our Intermediate Jumping lessons and has expertly introduced dozens of students & families to the joys of horse ownership. Her love for teaching plus a background of success in the hunters is the perfect compliment to Sarah’s duties & pursuits.
