About Us
Sarah rode hunters as a child and moved on to the prestigious equitation divisions at the A circuit shows as a junior. She spent her teen years competing successfully in the Medal, Maclay, Washington and USET classes. She has shown professionally in the hunter and jumper divisions at major horse shows across the country from The Winter Equestrian Festival in West Palm Beach, Fla. to The Kentucky Horse Park A shows in Lexington, Ky. In addition to being a great rider, Sarah has taken the step to also being a great instructor, and can communicate well what she does on a horse to teach others.
A lifelong horseman, Sean has had the good fortune to work with some of the greatest horses and horse people in Europe, Asia, and America. After starting out in Pony Club, Sean was selected to join the Irish Army school of Equitation where he got to work with and ride some of Europe’s top Grand Prix horses. While is the Army he was also captain of the vaulting team. Sean came to America to work for top hunter trainer Bruce Christison. After a great learning experience with Bruce, Sean joined Janet Elliot’s steeplechase stable as her assistant and 4 years later they were the # 1 stable in the country. Janet is the only female trainer in the Hall of Fame. She said about Sean, ”Sean is a dedicated and astute horseman. He has a keen eye, He is very knowledgable and has a wonderful kind way with horses and people.” Sean then got a very prestigious job as a private trainer to Prince Faisal bin Khaled in Saudi Arabia. Sean was champion trainer in Saudi in 1998. On his return to the States he joined John Ward as assistant trainer where they won many Grade 1 races including the Ky Derby with Monarchos prompting John to claim Sean as “one of the best horsemen he had ever laid eyes on”.
Sarah & Sean Reilly have spent their entire lives working with horses. From riding and training, to veterinary and blacksmith issues, as well as general horsemanship, they feel that between them, they have the horse and rider covered.
